MISSION STATEMENT
 
The Calgary Retired Teachers’ Association (CRTA) is committed to improving the quality of life for its members through educational, social and recreational activities.
 
OBJECTIVES
  • To educate our members regarding matters of health and wellness.
  • To promote and encourage life-long learning and engagement in the community.
  • To promote the recognition of our members as active and contributing members of the community.
  • To advocate for services, programs and government policies that benefit seniors.
  • To maintain a collaborative relationship with Alberta Retired Teachers’ Association (ARTA)
 

Affiliate membership is available to any individual who is:

  • the spouse of a retired teacher
  • a retired teacher from another province
  • teachers on extended leave or pending retirement
  • any senior (over 55) who shares the objectives of the CRTA

 

The annual membership fee is $21.00 (including GST). CRTA operates a wide range of activities and events each year: luncheons, theatre experiences, visits to sites around the city and the province, educational seminars, hands-on sessions and a yearly conference. 

 

Affiliate Members receive the CRTA Newsletter and may attend the many activities and events organized throughout the year at discounted rates. The Newsletter and Website provide information about the activities of CRTA, volunteer opportunities and news about other seniors' programs and activities taking place in the Calgary area.

Affiliate members are not eligible to vote or hold office. 

 

To be eligible for a member’s rate for events, each participant must have an active membership in CRTA. 

Participants in events/activities who choose to pay by cheque will receive the information for sending  their cheque in the confirmation of their registration of the event/activity.
